Vinh Tien releases another contemporary folk music album

Nguyen Vinh Tien, who is known as a composer of Vietnamese contemporary folk music, is releasing his second album of its kind on August 8.


The album, entitled ‘Ngoi Tren Vach Nang” (Sitting in Sunshine) is also hoped to gain the same public acclaim as his first one “Giot Suong Bay Len” (Dewdrop Flies Off).

Nguyen Vinh Tien vol 2 includes eight songs performed by Vietnamese famous chamber singers such as Tung Duong, Trong Tan, Anh Tho and Tuan Anh. Singer Tuan Anh, who won the first prize of Vietnam Television Singing Contest Morning Star’ 2005 sings five out of eight songs in the album. The song ‘Ong Toi’ (My Grandfather) which won the Impression Prize during a live show of Vietnamese Song in October 2007, a monthly musical programme held by Vietnam Television,  is also introduced in the album with the voice of singer Trong Tan.

Nguyen Vinh Tien has won success in the contemporary folk music. Many of his songs such as “My Grandmother” or “My Grandfather” has become public’s favourite. His song “Dewdrop Flies Off” won the Best Song of the Year in the contemporary folk music genre in 2005 of the Vietnamese Song programme.

Till now, six songs of Nguyen Vinh Tien have been selected for performing on Vietnamese Song programme.
