The central province of Quang Nam has begun the second phase of a project to preserve the My Son World Cultural Relics with assistance from the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
The Italian government provides US$435,000 in non-refundable aid for the project.
In its second phase, the project will complete the restoration of G1 tower, the most important relic in My Son, while continuing to Train local archaeologists, architects, experts and managers in preservation work.
It will also build a database for long-term plans for preservation and presentation of each tower.
The first phase of the project focused on making geographical maps for the My Son site.
The Cham ethnic people built the My Son relics in Duy Xuyen district, Quang Nam province, from the 4th to the 13th centuries.
